RUN 16K

Let’s run 16 kilometers anytime and anywhere from March 17-31, 2023.

Help us complete 40,075 kms once around the world for Global Pancreatic Cancer Awareness!

ABOUT THE RUNNINGSHIELD

Raul Patrick Concepcion was a passionate runner who called himself the RunningShield because running became his shield against the stresses of life.

In 42 years, he ran a total of 127,811.89 km, 3x around the world. He inspired countless others to run and be their best selves in service to others.

Patrick was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June 2021, but even that did not stop him from doing what he loved most.

Sadly, he passed away on November 6, 2022. He would have turned 60 years old on March 17 this year.

Sixteen kilometers. That was Patrick’s favorite distance to run. Help us continue RunningShield’s legacy by running your own 16 kilometers.

Let’s make the world a better and healthier place through running!

RAISE AWARENESS FOR PANCREATIC CANCER

Dear Runners,

Greetings! Truth to be told, this is a very difficult event for me to organize without my brother Patrick who was my co-founder in the Condura Skyway Marathon. For 8 years, we organized the Premier Running Event in the Philippines that raised funds for various advocacies from protecting the environment to supporting the education of the children of our soldiers who have fallen in battle. Patrick always wanted to do another Condura Skyway Marathon. Today, we start an advocacy with the “RunningShield 16k Global Run” which is a precursor to many great things to come.

The “RunningShield 16k Global Run” is organized by Patrick’s family and his close running friends. Our vision is to be the biggest virtual running event in the world in order to raise awareness for Pancreatic cancer.

Our mission is to continue Patrickʼs legacy by encouraging people to live their best lives through running and to help fight this dreaded disease through our beneficiary, the Philippine College of Surgeons Cancer Committee Foundation.

Thank you for your kind support!

MESSAGE FROM DRA. CATHERINE TEH

Dear Runners,

Pancreatic Cancer is one of the most aggressive cancer that is hard to cure. Locally, very little effort has been made to fight against this deadly cancer.

We aspire to raise awareness, share the right information and access to resources on pancreatic cancer prevention, screening early detection, timely diagnosis and effective management strategies through ways that create an impact in the lives of others.

On behalf of the Runningshield Fund, we invite everyone to join us in this collaborative endeavor and help raise awareness by running as Patrick so passionately did while battling pancreatic cancer courageously. Let us stride together to fund for this purpose collectively and continue Patrick’s legacy.

Help us help others fight against pancreatic cancer.

Sincerely yours,

Dra. Catherine Teh
